  3. Take the result

How the NBA is laid out on the wheel

The NBA runs fifteen clubs in each conference, split into three divisions apiece. The East holds the Atlantic (Celtics, Nets, Knicks, 76ers, Raptors), Central (Bulls, Cavaliers, Pistons, Pacers, Bucks) and Southeast (Hawks, Hornets, Heat, Magic, Wizards). The West holds the Northwest (Nuggets, Timberwolves, Thunder, Trail Blazers, Jazz), Pacific (Warriors, Clippers, Lakers, Suns, Kings) and Southwest (Mavericks, Rockets, Grizzlies, Pelicans, Spurs). Every wedge carries the club’s primary color and crest.

Are the picks really random?

Yes. Every spin pulls a value from your browser’s cryptographic random number generator and rejects any value that would bias the outcome, so all 30 teams — or however many you left on the wheel — have exactly the same chance. The winner is chosen before the wheel starts turning; the animation simply drives to it. Nothing is weighted and no result is sent to a server.
